Sesay is a recent graduate of Hampton University. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and communications. 

 

With her love for her parents native country Sierra Leone and passion for helping others, Orphans Rising in Unity stemmed from her victorious win as Miss Independence Sierra Leone USA 2016. The organization began as her platform for the pageant and was later executed during her trip to Sierra Leone in December 2016.  Sesay made such a big impact in Sierra Leone that she knew ORU must continue even after her reign. 

 

Sesay aspires to become a reporter for an international newscast sharing the untold stories of others. As she continues her education, she hopes to continue to impact the Sierra Leonean community abroad and in the United States.
