Ya-Marie Sesay is a charismatic journalist fascinated by the stories of others. She has a passion for keeping the community informed about accurate and meaningful stories that happen right in their backyards. 

 

Sesay is currently a local news reporter in the Washington D.C. area. As a bureau reporter and native of Prince George's County, Maryland her experience as an on-air multimedia journalist showcases her determination, leadership, and drive to tell the stories in the community she calls home.

Sesay began her news career with CBS affiliate station WLNS in Lansing, Michigan. There she shared meaningful stories with thousands of viewers in the Great Lakes Region.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from Hampton University's Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications in May 2018, and her Master's of Journalism from the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism in 2020.

As a journalist, Sesay hopes to share impactful stories and open the minds and hearts of viewers.
